Why Is Real Power Kibble Hollow?

For the health of your pet's jaws, Real Power kibble is made to a specially calibrated density: biting it feels close to crunching a bone. The mouth muscles get proper daily exercise, so in old age your pet still has the strength to chew — slowing the decline.

Why the hollow shape?

Considering the health of the upper and lower jaw, we chose a specially calibrated kibble density so that biting a piece delivers pressure close to crunching a bone. The oral muscles stay properly exercised every day; used to this, pets keep the strength to chew food as they age and avoid accelerated decline.

We therefore encourage owners to let pets crunch the kibble themselves. For puppies, kittens and seniors whose teeth aren't fully developed, soak the kibble in an equal weight of warm water (about 40–50 °C, warm to the touch) for 3–5 minutes until the surface softens, then serve.

Hollow kibble also helps scrape away plaque

When crunched, the hollow pieces break into angular fragments — easier for small dogs and cats to eat, and helpful for scraping plaque in the mouth. Kibble helps, but regular tooth-brushing is still essential! The kibble surface also carries a natural antioxidant coating based on green-tea extract, with natural antibacterial and deodorising effects for fresher breath. A small piece of kibble holds a lot of nutritionist design thinking.
