Real Power IDEA: The Thinking Behind the Companion Can

Real Power IDEA: The Thinking Behind the Companion Can

Find complete-diet cans unappetising to your cat? Struggle to judge how much to pair with kibble? Worry that complementary cans aren't balanced, are too strongly flavoured, encourage picky eating, or aren't suitable long-term?

Real Power's animal nutritionists heard you.

A first for Taiwan: a new approach to semi-wet feeding

Surveys show around 70% of cat owners feed a "semi-wet" diet. Yet most complete and complementary cans on the market aren't formulated with kibble pairing in mind, which easily leads to excess calories and protein (over-intake causing obesity and raising the risk of metabolic disease) and to nutrient shortfalls (hidden hunger). To solve this common feeding problem, Real Power's National Taiwan University-trained animal nutritionists and veterinarians — with more than a decade of experience at home and abroad — developed the market's first cat can designed specifically to pair with dry food: the Companion Can.

Nutrition maths is a chore? Precise pairing saves the worry

Based on the nutritional specifications of different cat kibbles on the market (mainly protein and energy, plus a check for conflicting health-care nutrients), Real Power designed three Companion Can series — R, H and L — because different kibbles should be paired with different cans. Cats get daily hydration through semi-wet feeding while taking in precisely balanced nutrition, without extra strain on the body.

  • R series: pairs with high-protein, medium-energy kibble (protein 36–44%, ME 3600–4000 kcal/kg)
  • H series: pairs with high-protein, high-energy kibble (protein 36–44%, ME ≥ 4000 kcal/kg)
  • L series: pairs with medium-protein, medium-energy kibble (protein 30–36%, ME 3600–4000 kcal/kg)

Companion Can + Real Power natural balanced functional cat food, built on preventive-medicine principles: precise formulation manages the nutrition a semi-wet-fed cat needs, for maximum health-care effect.

The Companion Can adds five-way health-care nutrition (skin, immunity, digestion, cardiovascular and joint protection — see the product page for the full ingredient list). Feeding the R series with Real Power natural balanced cat food every day not only exceeds AAFCO and NRC daily standards, it brings the total daily intake of every health-care nutrient to an "effective dose" (below daily consumption the effect is poor; above the threshold the benefit is significant) — genuine "eat daily, protect daily" nutrition.

Pets win at the starting line, and long-term health becomes visible.

Our nutritionists want to say: our ingredients are world-class and we care even more about food safety — believe that Taiwan has good technology, good quality and good brands.

Selected ingredients revealed

  1. Luye free-range chicken broth instead of plain water: hydrates while boosting palatability.
  2. Psyllium husk + alfalfa: soluble and insoluble fibre combined, supporting gut health and giving a good texture.
  3. Pure meat sources (chicken, quail, tilapia) with no by-products or offal: supplying the essential amino acids, fatty acids and trace elements cats need.
  4. Heat-stable vitamins, minerals and prebiotics in place of heat-sensitive nutrients: no loss during the 121 °C high-pressure process.
  5. Three oils in golden ratio (rice-bran oil + South American pharmaceutical-grade rTG fish oil + chicken fat with lecithin): a healthy Omega-6 : Omega-3 ratio supports immune balance. See the immune seesaw.
